"Supreme Sorcerer Ancient One, you really were hard to meet," Nick Fury said.
"You know her?" Kino asked curiously.
The Mutants might have known about the existence of the three Sorcerer Sanctums, but Nick Fury was just an ordinary person. Even if S.H.I.E.L.D. had control over the world's secrets, it probably should not have known much about the Supreme Sorcerer, right? After all, they spent most of their time living in seclusion, and even when they went out, they traveled through the Mirror Dimension.
"Of course. I once went to the Sanctum Sanctorum to invite them, but I was refused. Oh, I forgot to mention, I never met the Supreme Sorcerer," Nick Fury added.
?!
You had never met her, so how did you recognize her at a glance?
But Kino had no time to ask.
"Our duties are different! Your S.H.I.E.L.D. protects this world from natural disasters, while we sorcerers protect the world from magical incursions."
"Aha? Is that so? Bullshit, all of it! What have you sorcerers ever done? All you do is hide away from the world. If you could have intervened in worldly affairs, would this world have suffered so many disasters?"
It was obvious that Nick Fury disliked these lofty sorcerers. Who knew what they had done to make him so furious?
"Believe me, in places you know nothing about, what we have done is no less than what you have!"
The Ancient One merely cast Nick Fury a faint glance before turning to stare at Kino.
"How did you notice me?"
"Your illusion had no effect on me."
That was right. Earlier, when The Ancient One had "vanished" over there, she had not hidden herself in the Mirror Dimension. Instead, she had used an "illusion" to conceal herself. Hmm... it could roughly be understood as the transparent cloaking effect created by the Helicarrier's "light-reflecting panels."
If it had been the Mirror Dimension, The Ancient One would not have been surprised. After all, the man before her was also an expert in Space Magic. She could break through his Spatial Isolation, and he could erase her Mirror Dimension. Neither was strange.
But this was an illusion.
Could he also possess extremely powerful illusion magic?
Yet he had only moved his hand!
"Magic Immunity!"
"What?"
"Any magic is ineffective before me, including your illusions, hypnosis, barriers, telekinesis, teleportation, cross-space transportation, remote summoning, and so on."
This time, The Ancient One was visibly moved. "!!!"
In Fairy Tail, Kino had refined the power of most of the flesh, blood, bones, and sinews of the Black Dragon Acnologia. He had likewise gained the Black Dragon's "magic immunity," as well as... the ability to devour magic!
It could break all spells!
"..."
The Ancient One would not casually believe in something like "magic immunity." With a wave of her hand, nine orange magical blades suddenly appeared in midair, then shot toward Kino with sharp whooshes.
Kino did not move. He allowed the magical blades to stab into his chest.
Sure enough, the instant the magical blades struck Kino's chest, they shattered into countless fragments of magic and vanished completely.
"..." The Ancient One finally furrowed her brows.
"Tch! Looks like it isn't complete magic immunity after all? Then this should work."
"Black Dragon Skin!"
With a thought, countless tattoo-like patterns in strange spirals suddenly spread across Kino's skin. They were exactly like those of the Black Dragon Acnologia, except they were the complete opposite!
In human form, Acnologia had brown skin and white tattoos, while Kino's tattooed patterns were black.
Watching this strange, sinister appearance unfold before them, everyone sucked in a breath. They only felt that today's sun was a little... cold!
"This will do!"
"What is that?" The Ancient One asked.
"A world-destroying Black Dragon, named Acnologia. It once effortlessly destroyed an entire continent in one breath. Hmm... roughly the size of a state here, I suppose?"
Nick Fury stopped breathing. What, a state? In one breath?
Was that not too exaggerated?
"I killed it, then refined the power of its flesh, blood, bones, and sinews. Its 'magic immunity' ability came from it as well."
Kino had checked with Google. Although this Marvel Universe had quite a few celebrities from his previous life, not everything from his previous life existed here. At the very least, manga such as One Piece, Fairy Tail, Gintama, and so on did not exist.
The Ancient One's brows twitched wildly. A dragon?
Nick Fury was also a complete mess, his mind repeatedly crashing. Such an overbearing dragon... how the hell had Kino killed it?
"Want to try again?"
The Ancient One shook her head. "No need. I can feel it!"
Earlier, in his normal form, Kino had been immune to roughly eighty percent of the magic, while the remaining twenty percent of the energy had been absorbed by the Phoenix Force!
The Ancient One had naturally noticed it as well. Even if Kino did not possess "magic immunity," he could still absorb all magic. There was another, even more powerful force within his body.
Though she was called the Supreme Sorcerer, before that power, she was nothing more than a tiny shrimp.
In truth, Kino had not been certain whether he could be immune to magic in this Marvel Universe. After all, the magic in this world was far too different from the kind he had always known. Just look at Doctor Strange. The "magic" in it was practically telekinesis, or else the Mirror Dimension, Spatial Displacement, transformations, and the like.
After that, all that remained were melee sorcerers wielding magical cleavers or orange magical shields, charging in with flashes of blades and lightning.
Was that even magic?
The magic Kino knew was the kind in World of Warcraft that could destroy heaven and earth, or the kind in Fairy Tail: breathing lightning, breathing fire... and even breathing iron storms.
He was not sure whether his "magic immunity" would still work here, but he was confident that even if it failed... he still had the Phoenix Force to absorb energy.
So he had never worried that The Ancient One could hurt him.
But now, he was certain.
Although the "magic immunity" effect in his normal form had lost one-fifth of its effectiveness, once replaced with "Black Dragon Skin," it became one hundred percent.
The Ancient One felt an unprecedented challenge!
Her illusion magic had failed, magical energy attacks were negated by magic immunity, and as for her other magic... it was probably ineffective as well. The young man himself knew Space Magic, so all she had left was—
She swept both hands out, and green light shone from them. The strange pendant hanging from her chest also began to flash green.
Kino's brows instantly rose. "Wait! Wait! Are you sure you want to do this? I don't think I count as your enemy, do I?"
This Ancient One was being far too aggressive!
After her magic failed, why did she not just hurry up and log off? Why did she have to use a cheat to save face?
No wonder Nick Fury hated her.
"What is she doing?" Nick Fury sensed that something was wrong.
"The thing hanging around her neck is the 'Time Stone.' This stone allows its user to reach any 'point in time.'"
"A point in time?"
"That's right! Whether it is the distant past or the far-off future, using the power of this stone... one can observe or experience any era."
"No, I don't really get it!"
A huge bead of sweat rolled down Nick Fury's forehead. In truth, he already understood!
Damn it!
The Supreme Sorcerer could manipulate "time"?
"Let me give you an example—time is like a ruler with marks on it. The time we are in now is the ninth mark. Ahead lies the future, behind lies the past. She can use that stone to move back and forth at will!"
"If the user possesses abundant knowledge, she can do even more, even manipulate time and causality, plunging enemies and the entire world into an infinite time loop."
"And ordinary people would not notice it at all."
