Guessing Captain America's Frozen Location

"64°40′ west longitude, 40°39′ north latitude... where was that?" Kino asked curiously.

Coulson gave Kino a slightly awestruck look. "That means—we're on the same longitude as the Bermuda Triangle."

The Bermuda... that haunted place, right?

And longitude?

Longitude ran horizontally, right?

No, vertically?

Forgive Kino. Although he had been the geography class representative in middle school, that had been nearly fifty years ago. He had long since returned everything he learned to his teacher.

So the sea crossed in that flash of a shot was Hudson Strait.

And the small triangular marker for the plane Captain America was flying was over a broad expanse of sea. If nothing unexpected happened, that should have been—Baffin Bay.

At first, Kino had thought he was frozen in Greenland.

Because the shape of Greenland's coastline along Baffin Bay was very similar to the shape of Baffin Island's southern coastline along Hudson Strait.

So when Kino first watched Captain America 1, he had gotten it wrong.

After watching it over and over countless times, Kino could finally confirm that the flashing shot crossed only one strait, not two.

And New York was at 74 degrees west longitude. That line of longitude did not pass through Greenland.

Captain America had flown the plane from north to south, and that longitude line happened to cross Baffin Island.

Therefore, the place where Captain America crashed and was frozen should have been—where the 74° west longitude line intersected the northeastern outline of Baffin Island!

He should still be lying there now.

Or should Kino let him appear a little earlier?
