Werther and the Black Dragon clashed again and again, each impact shaking the air and tearing up the ground around them.
Both were fired up now. The Black Dragon seemed to have gotten caught up in the fight too, and began attacking Werther head-on.
After the Black Dragon knocked him back once more, Werther stopped instead of charging in again.
The fight had been exhilarating, but it had also worn him out a little. Neither of them had shown their true strength yet, though, so neither had suffered much damage.
The back of Werther's coat had been torn, while the Black Dragon had taken only one sword cut across its chest.
Werther looked at the wound he had dealt and finally grasped how terrifying the Black Dragon's Life Force was. The bleeding had stopped in seconds, and the wound had healed in less than a minute.
Even so, Werther had no thought of retreating. He had come prepared to die here today.
Dragon-Slaying held special meaning for him. His Master's ancestor had once slain a Flying Dragon.
What better way for a disciple to honor his Master than by slaying a Black Dragon?
