A blue flash cut the first few Desperados into pieces, leaving shock frozen on their faces.

The Desperados swarmed Werther. Blades slashed at him, great axes came down at his face, and attacks of every kind closed in.
Before, Werther might have struggled to keep up. But with his Electromagnetic Barrier active, that was no longer a problem.

Crackle! Every Pirate near Werther began to convulse. The tougher ones merely went limp; most were burned black.
Werther seized the opening and cut down the Desperados before him. Then he used Lightning Mode to heighten his body's activation. Some of them were surprisingly capable, and he needed to take the fight seriously.
Once he did, he became their nightmare. Blue light flashed, and one Desperado after another fell in pieces.
A few clever ones grabbed handfuls of Beli amid the chaos and ran. Before long, they were out of sight.
Werther had let them go on purpose. Without a little hope, why would the others keep charging? They could take the money. Those who tried to pull Hamura from the ground were not so lucky.
People died for riches, just as birds died for food. Werther was brutal, but this was still a chance to make off with a fortune in Beli.
More and more Desperados gathered around Werther.
Before long, every Beli beneath his feet was stained red. Yet his Electromagnetic Barrier had kept his clothes spotless, making the scene all the more cruel.
