Hearing Rayleigh's words, the giant looked at him.
"Old man, how do you plan to get out?"
"I have a way, of course. Come a little closer, sir."
The giant was puzzled, but he stepped closer anyway.

A figure flashed before his eyes, and suddenly the giant felt the weight lift from his neck.
"You..."
He touched his neck. The slave collar was gone. Rayleigh's had vanished too. Both collars lay quietly on the floor, opened by some method he couldn't fathom, with no sign they were about to explode.
"Let's go see what all the commotion is about. I wonder if anyone still recognizes this old geezer."
Rayleigh walked to the cell's iron door and shoved. The metal began to buckle.

The door crashed to the floor with a tremendous noise. Rayleigh glanced back at Werther, who was still sleeping soundly, utterly undisturbed. Rayleigh was at a loss for words.
