Kizaru's face had turned cold, but Werther smiled.

Leg and sword locked together, crackling as their Haki clashed.

"Don't be in such a hurry, Mr. Kizaru. Let's spar a little before you go."

Kizaru understood what Werther was after. He wasn't trying to fight him to the death, only hold him up.

What Kizaru didn't know was that Werther was struggling to control himself. It had been so long since he'd faced an opponent this strong that he could barely suppress the power surging through him. He wanted a proper fight with Kizaru.

But reason told Werther this wasn't the time. He still had something to do at the Summit War. He had made a promise. The thought helped him calm down.

Kizaru put on another burst of force and drove Werther back for the moment.

"Trying to hold me here? Then let's see if you can keep up with my Speed."

"Yata Mirror!"

Kizaru held his hands loosely before his chest, and a ball of yellow light appeared between them.

Werther immediately increased the intensity of Lightning Mode's stimulation of his body. He knew this move: it let Kizaru travel at Extreme speed.

Just as Werther finished priming his body, the light in Kizaru's hands stretched forward, ricocheting rapidly between the buildings in an Ejection.

Werther knew the move, but he didn't know how to counter it. He could only take a gamble.

If it were an ordinary beam of light, Werther couldn't cut it. But if Kizaru meant to travel along it, Werther could force his real body out.

"Flash."

Werther appeared directly in front of Kizaru and swung at the column of light.

Swish.

A pale-blue Sword Flash cut through empty air. Kizaru had vanished.

"Tch. He ran?"
