Werther paid no attention to what Camie was thinking. Right now, he was curious about Madame Shyarly and wanted to see how her predictions worked.
"Lead the way. Take me to your boss."
Camie stood there, flustered and at a loss.
Seeing her reaction, Werther realized the young mermaid was probably terrified. Should he say something reassuring?
"If you don't lead the way, I'll kill you."
Sure enough, after Werther spoke, Camie was moved to tears.
"Heh, don't be scared. I just want a reading. I have no other intentions."
Camie thought over his words.
"O-okay. I'll let our manager know. J-just wait here."
With that, Camie hurried toward the back of the Mermaid Cafe.
Werther, of course, had no intention of waiting for Camie to deliver the message before meeting Madame Shyarly.
So he followed right behind her.
Oblivious Camie had no idea she had become his guide.
After only a few steps, Werther reached the back of the Mermaid Cafe and heard Camie's voice coming from a room.
"Madame Shyarly, someone wants to see you, and he's really scary."
"Hmm? Calm down, Camie. Who is it?"
Werther pushed the door open and walked straight in.
"Me. My name's Werther. I heard you can tell fortunes. How about giving me a reading?"
Madame Shyarly was sitting on a broad Red-Haired sofa, holding a slender pipe.
"Hmm? What a rude man. And I don't tell fortunes. I perform Fortune-Telling."
"You'd be better off not asking me for one. What I see is usually quite unfortunate."
Shyarly hadn't recognized Werther. She took him for a pirate passing through Fish-Man Island.
Camie wanted to explain, but when she saw the sharp look in Werther's eyes, she no longer dared to speak. She could only pray silently that Madame Shyarly wouldn't offend him.
