People could withstand cold and heat, but unless they had exceptionally strong bodies, the constant swings between the two could easily make them sick.
Given the Pirate World's underdeveloped transportation and the poor medical care on some islands, illness sometimes meant death.
No one had lived here for three hundred years. The occasional visitor came only to gather Kau Grass, a highly valuable plant.
Now, however, quite a few people had gathered on the usually deserted Kinoas Island.
They were divided into three groups. The first was the Marines, led by Sengoku.
Vice Admiral Tsuru was there as well. The women Marines behind her repeatedly drew hungry looks from some of the pirates on the island, but with Sengoku's formidable strength to worry about, those men could only swallow their desire.
The second group was the Red Hair Pirates, led by Red-Haired.
As one of the Four Emperors of the New World, and with his territory closest to the island, he could be considered the host.
His was now the strongest force on the island. With his crew behind him, even the World Government could not afford to underestimate their combined strength.
The third group was far more mixed, made up mostly of pirates who had gathered from across the New World.
Still, several forces among them could not be overlooked, including the Happo Navy brothers, Sai and Abu.
Nearby stood a red-haired, large-breasted beauty: Kid, whom Werther had injected with hormones.
Several corpses lay at Kid's feet. Their mangled state made it clear what they had endured.
Not far from Kid sat a man
