Catarina Devon felt as though the whole world was out to get her, from that damned Thunder Swordsman to the Sniper in the distance.
"Captain, save me! The enemy's got me in his sights!"
Catarina Devon sensed the bullet too, but she had just used her spear to shatter Werther's Sword Aura. She had no strength left to dodge.
Blackbeard was about to rush to her aid when Werther sent more than a dozen arcs of Sword Aura crisscrossing toward him. Blackbeard had no choice but to block them first.
Thud. The bullet struck flesh.
The shot punched straight through Catarina Devon's arm. Even coated in Armament Haki, it could not withstand Jin Hu's sniper rifle, which was over two meters long. A hole the width of a thumb appeared in it.
Armament Haki was the only reason her arm was still attached. A rifle that large would otherwise have blown it clean off.
Catarina Devon grunted as the force of the bullet knocked her sideways. Before she could regain her balance, Werther closed in again.
Werther knew it was a risky move, but if he could take Catarina Devon out, it would be worth it.
The Blackbeard Pirates' eyes turned cold when Werther charged in, and they began to surround him. Before they could spread into formation, several bullets flew in, striking at them almost simultaneously.
Jin Hu was covering Werther.
The Blackbeard Pirates failed to surround Werther. Instead, Catarina Devon found herself isolated.
Fighting Werther up close was nothing like enduring his Sword Aura from a distance. Against a Great Swordsman, one careless move could cost you a body part.
Before Catarina Devon could react, Werther swung his sword at her neck.
She jerked her head back and avoided the fatal blow, but the blade still caught her.
