Werther looked at Koala again. To him, she might as well have been stripped bare, helpless to resist whatever he chose to do.

That was the difference in their strength.

Koala felt much the same way. It was as though she lay naked in the snow, freezing to the bone.

Two minutes remained before Crimson Regalia ended.

Just as Werther was about to finish Koala off, several bolts of lightning fell from the sky.

How fast was lightning? Not all that fast—if you had mastered Observation Haki and could track its path.

With the naked eye alone, there was no keeping up with it.

Werther immediately realized the bolts were coming for him.

He pushed his Observation Haki to its limit and sensed where they would strike.

Rather than dodge, Werther swung his sword at the oncoming lightning.

Crack! He split the bolt apart, scattering it into sparks that vanished in the air.

A few more swings dispersed the remaining bolts.

Aside from a stinging arm, Werther felt fine. The electricity in those bolts was powerful, but after years of exposure to it, his resistance was inhuman.

"That monster... He can even cut lightning apart."

Koala's voice trembled with tears. She was terrified.

No sooner had Werther shattered those bolts than several more came down at him.

While Werther dealt with them, Sabo burst from the rubble, covered in blood.

Dust coated Sabo from head to toe, and the black top hat he always wore was nowhere to be seen.

Sabo made no attempt to fight Werther. He ran straight to Koala, scooped her up in his arms, and vanished from the Ark Maxim in a few strides.

Even Sabo was wary of Werther in this state.

The lightning faded. Werther stood still and looked up at the dark clouds.
