He checked himself over. Aside from a black spider mark on the back of his hand, nothing seemed wrong.

"Don't think you've escaped. I can take your life whenever I want."

Meiweng's face fell, but the terror he had felt earlier was gone.

He had a feeling he wouldn't die for now. He was worried about what lay ahead, but being alive was still a good thing.

"Relax. I won't use you as cannon fodder. You have other uses. Apart from a few places you shouldn't go, you're free to move around."
