In a pitch-black sewer, two men and two women fled for their lives.

They were the Four Sweet Commanders who had fought Werther earlier.
All four were in a sorry state. A slash wound ran across Launi Aileen's back, crossing her spine.
Charlotte Katakuri's right arm, the one he used to flick jelly beans, was gone. It looked as though a sharp blade had severed it.
The Long-Legged Beauty had fared a little better. She only had a wound through her lower abdomen.
Charlotte Cracker was in the worst shape.
The other three were badly hurt, but they still had most of their body parts. Charlotte Cracker had nothing left below the waist.
"Cracker! Cracker, wake up! Can you hear me? Milky, use your juice to heal Cracker. Hurry!"
Charlotte Katakuri gripped Charlotte Cracker's shoulders and shook him.

Pain crossed the Long-Legged Beauty's face. Her lips trembled.
"Enough! Heal Cracker, now!"
Charlotte Katakuri roared, his remaining hand gripping Charlotte Cracker's shoulder.

Launi Aileen looked at Cracker lying on his back, no longer breathing, and felt her nose sting.

Charlotte Katakuri's voice faded, and his head sank.
Then, in the depths of his Extreme grief, Charlotte Katakuri jerked his head up.
"He's coming. That monster's coming again. How? We've shifted through space more than a dozen times. How can he still follow us?
"Move. I won't let my brother die in this filthy sewer."
Charlotte Katakuri hoisted Charlotte Cracker's broken body onto his shoulder and led his two sisters deeper into the sewer.
