Werther was charging toward Sabo when he suddenly stopped.
His brow furrowed. After a moment's thought, he raised a hand behind him, signaling for patience.
Sabo saw Werther's strange gesture but did not slow down.
"Dragon Claw!"
Sabo curled his fingers into the shape of a dragon's claws. Coated in Armament Haki, they looked like real claws as he swiped at Werther's head.
Werther tilted his head aside and dodged. Intent Blood sliced through the air toward Sabo.
"Death Wink!"
The Okama King moved to help as soon as he saw Sabo under attack, but he was too late.
Werther ignored the Okama King's Death Wink. His sword kept sweeping toward Sabo's throat.
Sabo's pupils contracted. He instinctively tried to dodge.
But Werther's sword was too fast. Even with all his effort, Sabo was struck.
Blood gushed out. A deep gash ran from his shoulder to his cheek.
"Sabo!"
Koala cried out and caught Sabo as he was sent flying.
Boom!
Death Wink struck Werther head-on, kicking up a great cloud of dust.
"It worked. I actually hit him."
Even the Okama King could hardly believe he had landed a hit on Werther.
"Oh? What are you talking about?"
A cold voice came from behind Koala and the other two.
A headless corpse now lay where Werther had stood. It was Hack the Fish-Man.
Hack had not even had time to react before Werther cut off his head.
With Werther's speed, how could the Okama King's sluggish attack have hit him? It had struck only his afterimage.
"Hack!"
"You bastard! How could you..."
All three glared at Werther in fury, but he felt nothing.
"Arabesque Brick Fist!"
Eyes red, Koala charged at Werther, heedless of the gulf between their strength.
