When Aokiji saw such a deadly weapon flying toward Vegapunk, he could hardly stand by and do nothing.
"Ice Saber!"
A mass of ice spears shot toward Blood Rose, with Werther behind it in their path.
Seeing that Blood Rose was about to be knocked down, Werther gave the fine thread attached to it a slight tug. Miraculously, Blood Rose shifted just enough to evade Aokiji's Ice Saber.
But Blood Rose did not strike Vegapunk. Instead, it pierced Anita beside him, passing through her leg before driving deep into the ground.
Anita did not react at once. She tried to move her leg, found that she could not, then looked down and saw the horrifying sight.
"Wah... It hurts! Big Underpants, get it out! It hurts!"
"Anita, are you all right? Thunder Swordsman, how could you do something so cruel to a child? Are you even human?"
Vegapunk crouched down and tried to pull Blood Rose out of Anita's leg. But Blood Rose had been designed by Second Senior Sister. How could it be removed so easily?
Werther was surprised too. He had missed Vegapunk and struck the little girl who had wet herself in fright instead. He swore he had not done it on purpose. He had only used the thing a few times, so his aim was nothing special.
When it flew in a straight line, Werther could hit a target precisely. Once he adjusted its course a second time, though, it was anyone's guess where it would land.
And today, Blood Rose's aim had been a mystery all its own.
But Werther had killed thousands. A few angry questions were not going to trouble him. He took Blood Rose's spool from his sleeve and pinned it to the ground with another part of Blood Rose, then charged
