Soon, a pirate wielding a Cutlass stained with blood and scraps of flesh set his sights on her.

A cruel smile spread across his face. The battlefield had become a vast meat grinder, and a bloodthirsty gleam had appeared in his eyes.

"Die."

The pirate leaped high and slashed at Koala's head. As he flew through the air, his face shone with excitement, bloodlust, and the pleasure of destroying something beautiful.

The Cutlass struck with force, but it was not fast. Koala might have been distraught, but she could still sense an attack coming.

She slipped sideways past the blade. Her face turned cold, and killing intent rose in her eyes.

Koala sprang into the air and wrapped her slender legs around his neck, then twisted her body violently.

Crack! The pirate's head wrenched backward at an unnatural angle. His neck broken, he collapsed and soon breathed his last.

The young woman was Koala. She had not retreated with Dragon. Too many Revolutionary Army cadres had died; if she left now, the nearby troops would have no one to lead them.

So she had no choice but to swallow her grief and stay to command the battle.

Clap, clap, clap. Crisp applause sounded behind Koala.
