A breeze swept past as Werther sat on the King of the Sky's back, a little bored.

It was already the fifth day. The constant travel had left him tired.

"We're almost there."

The Chief Steward stood and lifted his chin.

Sure enough, a red cliff towering into the clouds appeared in Werther's view.

"Stupid Bird, climb higher."

As they rose, the temperature dropped. Before long, the King of the Sky passed through the clouds.

White stretched in every direction, like a scene from a fairyland.

"We're headed the right way. If we keep going straight, we'll reach Mary Geoise."

The Chief Steward held an oddly shaped pointer made entirely of metal, with a red needle floating at its center.

Noticing Werther's gaze, the Chief Steward tossed it to him.

"This is a special Eternal Pose for the Red Line. The entire Red Line is one continuous landmass, so its magnetic field is largely uniform. You need one of these to find your way.

"It only points in one direction, though, so you have to work out your position yourself."

Werther understood. It was somewhat like a compass from his previous life, only much cruder.

Judging by the needle's faint trembling, whether it was reliable remained to be seen.

"Get ready to land. Flying over the Red Line is forbidden. I had to pull strings for you the last time you flew through here."

Werther looked at the Chief Steward in surprise.

"Really? Then let's land."

The King of the Sky landed. Werther motioned for him to do as he pleased, and with a low cry, the King of the Sky flew toward the New World.

"The young lady is waiting at the Castle. Let's go."

As he stepped onto the Red Line, Werther noticed that the ground was made
