Russ listened to the crunch of breaking bones and the apes' dying screams, at a loss for words.
But he refused to give up. What kind of Hunter lost confidence in front of his prey? The moment he did, death would be his only fate.
Outside the iron plating, Loa finished off the beasts and took another look at the thick barrier before him.
"What a Turtle Shell," Loa muttered.
Though he could smash through steel now, that didn't include a slab of iron this absurdly thick. Even Dragon Slayer Magic wouldn't do it. Digging out the entire room Russ was hiding in seemed more practical.
But Loa was sure that even if he did, the room would have thick iron walls on every side. He still would not get in.
That was only true if he tried to break in by force. He was a mage, however mysterious his origins, and relying on brute strength alone was a foolish way to solve a problem.
A wicked smile tugged at Loa's lips. "Are you sure you won't come out?"
"Huh?" Inside the room, Russ found Loa's question strange, but he held firm. "That's right, I'm not coming out. What are you going to do about it?"
"Then don't blame me." Loa crouched and pressed his palm against the thick iron.
"Do you know what it's like to die in a freezer?"
"Uh...
