Background
Loa was preparing to play games and eat instant noodles in his original world when he lost consciousness and awakened alone on a deserted island. With no sign of civilization, he improvised to find food, discovered abnormal strength and endurance, and received a blue status interface identifying him as an “Ice Dragon Slayer.” 8
Initially dependent on coconuts, Loa learned that his growth system consumed extraordinary amounts of biological energy. He progressed by hunting the island’s wildlife, preserving meat with ice, building a cave-based shelter, and eventually “eating an island into poverty.” Isolation changed him from a frightened gaming shut-in into a quiet, capable hunter, while repeated use of Dragon Slayer Magic strengthened his body. 10
After discovering that he had arrived in the world of One Piece, Loa annihilated the Scissor Pirates with Ice Dragon’s Roar to gain the Marines’ attention and secure a way off the island. Vice Admiral Momonga brought him aboard, where Loa concealed his Dragon Slayer Magic by claiming to have eaten a Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit. 11 12
Loa joined the Marines to gain protection, formal combat training, and access to Haki, which he considers necessary to survive in the world. 13
Appearance
Loa normally appears human, though his Dragon Body steadily increases his physique and physical presence. During breakthroughs and transformations, his draconic traits become visible. 10 40
- Blue diamond-shaped markings form around both wrists after his first system upgrade. 9
- A major breakthrough briefly gave him a taller, more muscular body, pale-blue scales, sharp nails, and golden vertical pupils. 10
- First Release covers him in blue scales and produces claws, bone spikes at his elbows and knees, bat-like wings, and golden slit pupils. 32 33
- Uncontrolled pseudo-dragonification can tear apart his Marine uniform as scales and wings erupt from his body. 40
Personality
Loa is practical, adaptable, and irreverent. Faced with starvation and isolation, he prioritizes survival and improvement, whether by improvising with his clothes, hunting enormous beasts, or exploiting the system’s rules. His gaming and webnovel experience shape how he interprets new abilities, often leading him to approach danger with jokes rather than panic. 8 9 24
He is also mischievous and frequently disregards military decorum. He weaponizes ice to evade punishments, prank fellow recruits, and provoke his instructors; his carelessness repeatedly causes collateral damage. 21 27 34
Despite becoming desensitized to killing during his isolation, Loa retains a capacity for respect and reflection. After defeating the Silverback Great Ape, he recognizes it as a worthy warrior, gives it a burial, and treats its death as a solemn turning point. 12 33
Loa’s ambition is to become the world’s strongest person. He is skeptical of institutional justice, believing that “justice” is often determined by the victorious side rather than by any fixed moral truth. 36
Abilities & Skills
Ice Dragon Slayer Magic
Loa’s primary magic grants him a dragon-like constitution, ice-based offensive techniques, heightened physical ability, and the potential to transform through Dragon Force. His power is not a Devil Fruit, though he presents it as one to the Marines. 9 12
- Ice Dragon’s Iron Fist — Coats his fist in Ice Dragon power, combining blunt force with freezing effects; used to hunt giant boars and finish the Silverback Great Ape. 9 10 33
- Ice Dragon’s Roar — Fires an icy storm from his lungs through a magic circle. It can devastate pirate formations, generate hailstorms, and freeze large areas, but early use lacked precision. 11 19
- Ice Dragon’s Wing Attack — A high-output Dragon Slayer technique available after reaching the Second Tier; later used to create the Silverback Great Ape’s grave. 13 33
- Ice Bomb: Rapid Fire — Repeated explosive ice projectiles used to suppress the Silverback Great Ape. 31
- Can recover strength by consuming ice after exhausting himself. 33
- His Dragon Slayer constitution causes severe motion sickness in vehicles, especially ships. 12 28
Ice-Make Magic
After reaching the Second Tier, Loa gains the ability to create and shape ice directly with magic rather than relying on existing water or cold air. 13
- Forms airborne ice platforms for movement and short-range flight. 17
- Creates weapons and battlefield-control constructs, including ice swords, spears, wolves, trees, umbrellas, and coffins. 20 24 34 46
- Heavy Armored Lancer — Produces an ice spear capable of piercing the Stone Drum Bull’s steel-hard defenses. 30
- Great Serpent — A defensive/offensive construct designed to absorb and disrupt Kuzan’s structured ice attacks. 27
- Thousand Forest Thrust — Summons numerous armor-piercing ice spikes with improved precision. 45
- Ice Armor — A layered defensive technique. His later Type 17: Spider variant adds weaponized icy limbs for offense and defense. 32 45
- Loa can use Ice-Make Magic freely, but considers his control over Dragon Slayer Magic comparatively crude. 39 45
Dragon Force and Dragon Body
Dragon Force enhances Loa’s Dragon Slayer Magic but progressively alters his body. Dragon Body represents his compatibility with that power, with greater compatibility improving his physical qualities. 9 40
- Dragon Force begins transforming the user’s body once it exceeds 0%; extreme accumulation risks full dragonization. 9
- Dragon Body enhances strength, endurance, durability, recovery, and instincts. 9 26
- Repeated use of Dragon Force increases its percentage permanently; Loa treats this as a serious risk. 27 33
- His Dragon Force reaches 6% after the Silverback Great Ape battle and subsequent upgrade. 39
- Dragon Might released during First Release can frighten wildlife over a wide area, indirectly triggering a beast tide. 34
First Release
First Release is Loa’s self-developed method of forcibly activating Dragon Force. By using Ice-Make Magic inside his own body, he causes himself to absorb ice-element magic and enter a temporary dragon-human combat state. 33 34
- Greatly increases his strength, speed, durability, recovery, and combat instincts. 32
- Lets him physically overpower the Silverback Great Ape after his normal ranged attacks prove insufficient. 32 33
- Temporarily disables Ice-Make Magic after activation, though Dragon Slayer Magic remains usable. 33
- Its bloodthirsty impulse can impair his reasoning. 33
- Accelerates Dragon Force growth, making it dangerous to use except in critical situations. 33
Awakening: Pseudo-Dragonification
A system-generated skill unlocked at Second Tier, Sixth Level, apparently in response to Loa’s creation of First Release. 40
- Temporarily awakens Dragon Force.
- Raises Dragon Body compatibility by one stage.
- Strengthens Dragon Slayer Magic and magic recovery.
- Consumes no magic power while active. 40
- Its emergence confirms that Loa’s self-created techniques can alter the system’s available abilities. 40
Physical Combat and Survival
Loa’s Dragon Body gives him extraordinary baseline strength and endurance even without Haki or Six Powers training. 10 17
- Can run one hundred 2,000-meter laps while maintaining a controlled pace and finishing near the front. 16
- Can break steel with brute force after a major Dragon Body threshold. 27
- Uses improved Ice Armor and focused protection around vital areas to withstand lethal attacks. 49
- Learned hunting, fire-making, food preservation, shelter use, and salt collection while stranded alone. 10
- Lacks Haki and acknowledges that his close-combat fundamentals remain underdeveloped compared with experienced fighters. 13 33
Relationships
- Vice Admiral Momonga — Loa’s first Marine contact and rescuer from the deserted island. Momonga recruits him, repeatedly disciplines him, and remains personally concerned for his safety despite frequent exasperation. 12 13 34 36
- Kuzan / Aokiji — Loa’s principal ice-power mentor and sparring partner. Kuzan publicly resists the “teacher” title but trains Loa nightly, tests his techniques, and ultimately treats him as a disciple. 20 24 31
- Zephyr — Chief instructor and mentor figure. Zephyr recognizes Loa’s potential, disciplines his recklessness, and intends to train him toward Admiral-level strength. 15 35 36
- Ms. S — Marine cafeteria cook and Loa’s eating-contest rival. She later helps plan meals suited to his extreme appetite. 19 27
- Arudo — Elite Camp recruit and recurring rival. Loa defeats him through battlefield control, while Arudo continues seeking opportunities to challenge him. 22 24 46
- Silverback Great Ape — Land Beast hunted by Loa for food. Their brutal two-hour fight leads Loa to respect it as a warrior and bury its body after killing it. 31 33
- Garp — Vice Admiral who offers to take Loa as a disciple, primarily to irritate Zephyr. Loa rejects him and argues that Zephyr is the better instructor. 44
- Sengoku — Fleet Admiral who becomes concerned by the scale and nature of Loa’s potential, including the possibility that his ice may affect time or space. 39 40
Story Role / Major Arcs
Transmigration and Island Survival
Loa awakens alone on an unknown island, discovers his system and Ice Dragon Slayer Magic, then survives by hunting and consuming the island’s creatures. He reaches the Second Tier before finally encountering Marines and learning that he is in the world of One Piece. 8 10 11
Entry into the Marines
After eliminating the Scissor Pirates, Loa uses Momonga’s warship to escape the island. He hides the origin of his magic behind a Devil Fruit cover story, joins the Marines for access to Haki training, and enters Zephyr’s Recruit Training Camp. 12 13 15
Marineford Training
Loa’s abnormal strength quickly makes standard recruit exercises inadequate. Kuzan begins teaching him ice-power applications and combat control, while Zephyr focuses on his weak fundamentals. During this period, Loa defeats Arudo, develops Ice-Make techniques, and discovers that combat and insight can raise his Energy Value more effectively than food. 17 24 26
Elite Assessment
During the Combat Assessment on a Calm Belt island, Loa leads other recruits briefly before hunting the Stone Drum Bull and then pursuing the Silverback Great Ape for food. His battle with the ape triggers a beast tide that suspends the assessment and earns him the resentment of much of the Recruit Camp. 29 30 31 34
Silverback Great Ape Battle
Loa’s ranged attacks seriously wound the Land Beast but fail to stop its close-range assault. He activates First Release, fights the ape in a savage dragon-human form, and eventually kills it with Ice Dragon’s Iron Fist. He receives 1,000 assessment points and buries the ape in an ice-sealed grave. 32 33
Mass Recruit Challenge
As punishment for the earlier beast tide, Zephyr requires Loa to defeat every challenger before entering the Elite Camp. Loa develops stronger Ice-Make Magic and confronts recruits, Elite Camp members, and top-ranked fighters at once while senior Marines observe his growth. 35 45 46 49
