Loa seemed to read Jones's mind. He suddenly laughed, and the scar left by that drunken Swordsman writhed across his face with Motion, like a living centipede.

Since Jones already believed it, Loa saw no reason to correct him. All that mattered was that Jones followed his orders.
Jones froze at Loa's words, then shook his head with a bitter smile.

If he truly did not care whether Minnie lived or died, would he have obeyed the Athos Family's orders all this time?
He was the strongest person in that family! If he turned on them, the officers Loa had killed would never have been enough to stop his revenge.
