The Island Turtle was, as its name suggested, a gigantic turtle as large as an island. It first appeared in the One Piece movie The Giant Mechanical Soldier of Karakuri Castle. Though it helped tie the main plot together, it mostly just made a cameo.
Ever since Loa discovered he did not get seasick aboard an animal he had enslaved, he had wanted to get his hands on one.
He had considered using Maker Magic to create a ship for transportation, but at the time, his magic was too weak and his Magic Power too limited. The idea had barely crossed his mind before he discarded it.
Besides, a ship made of ice would hardly be reliable for a long ocean voyage.
So when Loa remembered the Island Turtle from the movie, he decided he had to have it.
He had expected to deal with it slowly when he found the time. Who could have guessed that business with Jones would come up?
