Cosmic Descent, one of Loa's secret arts, gathered the Ice Element in the surrounding area into a single point, shaped it into Magic, then fired it.
It froze the target area to zero degrees. Though it could not freeze atoms like Hyoga's Ice Combat, it was enough to destroy most targets.
Loa had used it several times before, but its power had always been diminished. Compared with his other secret art, Land of the End, Cosmic Descent had been a secret art in name only.
He had always used it in dry environments. They held nowhere near as much Ice Element as the perpetually snow-covered East Island of Drum Kingdom.
This time, Cosmic Descent finally showed its true power.

A violent tremor spread outward, sending ripples through the snow. Invisible, intangible Dragon's Might rolled in every direction, making Mingde and the others hold their breath.
Then, before everyone's horrified eyes, a point of light appeared in Loa's palm.
They could not describe the feeling. There was something mixed in with their fear.
But they knew that speck of light promised not hope, but death.
The next moment, Loa closed his hand around the light and punched toward the fleeing Kureha and Drake.
He glanced after them with regret. "What a shame. I was planning to bring you into the Pirates' crew."
Kureha had sensed a suffocating danger as soon as Loa began gathering Magic Power. It was a feeling she had not known in years. The breath of death washed over her, leaving her momentarily dazed.
Even so, she showed no sign of panic. "Good grief. It's been years since I felt this. I've almost missed being a hair's breadth from death..."
But just because she was calm did not mean Drake was. Every hair on his body stood
