It was clearly a razor-sharp weapon that had drawn blood countless times, yet it was also lavishly decorated and outrageously expensive-looking!
There was only one way those contradictions could exist together!

Loa pushed up the glasses he had fashioned from Ice, sneered, and raised a finger toward the long blade. "There's only one truth!"
"The culprit—no, wait! You're actually a ceremonial knife!"
Blood sacrifices had existed throughout history, and ceremonial knives had arisen alongside them.
Even now, when a new Warship was launched at Marine Headquarters, they used knives to butcher livestock and pray for a safe voyage.
Whether they actually believed in any of that was another matter.
Judging by its size, this Temple had once served a large religious order. And where there were plenty of people, there were bound to be plenty of fervent believers.
As the saying went, mountains bred Monsters, and crowds bred—ahem.
And there was more!
Loa looked at the hole left by the blade, flicked a finger, and sent a diamond-shaped piece of Ice threaded with fine icy strands into it.
Ice Bomb: Spider!
Thump!
A muffled sound soon came from beneath the ground. Countless slender threads of Ice shot outward, relaying everything they touched in the soil back to Loa.
Feeling what the threads revealed, Loa gave a cold smile.
"What a bloody cult."
Through his senses, Loa could make out everything underground. A square pit lay beneath the Temple, as large as the building above it.
With a structure that massive on the surface, it should have collapsed long ago if there were such a huge pit underneath.
Unless, of course, the pit was filled with something. That changed matters.
And it was. Beneath the entire temple—an area the size of three basketball courts—the pit was packed with human remains!
