On the island's beach, the Marines enjoying the feast had no idea what had happened. They carried on eating, drinking, and making a racket.
Only Vice Admirals Haisoken and Dalmatian, seated farther away, were too worried to enjoy the food.
They had been watching Loa, so they had seen the flash of sword light Hawkeye sent out. They had no idea what was happening over there. All they could do was hope Loa and Hawkeye wouldn't fight.
If they did, the ordinary soldiers on the beach would have nowhere to run.
Everyone knew how strong Loa was. A clash between fighters at the Admiral level would be utterly devastating! The island was small to begin with, and Loa had sealed it off with an Ice Wall. If those two started fighting, the soldiers would be trapped.
Fortunately, nothing else had happened after that flash of sword light. The two vice admirals breathed a little easier, though they couldn't help worrying about another possibility.
Had Loa been taken down in one strike?
Wait, that actually seemed possible!
"Hey, Haisoken, do you think Loa's still alive?"
Vice Admiral Dalmatian picked up a piece of roast meat with his chopsticks, dipped it in sauce, and put it in his mouth. Well, he could still eat.
"He should be... right?" Haisoken answered uncertainly. Hawkeye was certainly someone to be wary of, but he wasn't the sort to kill without cause. Loa hadn't done anything to him, so Hawkeye shouldn't have had any reason to kill him.
Then again, judging by Loa's usual behavior, the chances that he hadn't provoked Hawkeye...
Better not think about it!!!
Haisoken looked in the direction Loa had gone, his brow furrowed. Just then, he blinked. Something dark seemed to be moving across the sea. He sprang to his feet.
