As they walked down the chaotic Lovers' Avenue in Dressrosa, Drake stopped and said to Crocodile ahead of him, "This is where we part ways. I'm going this way."
"Oh? I thought you'd forgotten your mission entirely." Crocodile sneered. "Try to keep your corpse intact when you die. It'll make reviving you less trouble."
"Haha. Thanks for the vote of confidence."
Faced with Crocodile's affectionate parting words, Drake slung his Four-Bladed Axe over his shoulder, waved, and led his troops deeper into Dressrosa.
That way lay the SILE Factory, rumored to produce Artificial Devil Fruits. It was also where all the toys ended up after dark: the Toy House.
Surely that gift would satisfy Loa. How strong Drake was mattered less than how much he could contribute. That was what truly counted!
Drake believed it with all his heart.
The Undead Legion pressed on, hacking anyone who dared block its path to pieces. Before long, Dressrosa's ordinary citizens realized the invaders would not attack them unless provoked.
Pretending not to notice felt like a betrayal of their beloved King, Donquixote Doflamingo. But these were Undead! Surely His Majesty would understand their predicament.
With no troops left to get in his way, Crocodile soon passed through the high walls and reached King's Plateau.
The Royal Palace atop the plateau was in an uproar. Even from a distance, he could hear the commotion inside. Some were directing troops against the enemy, others were organizing firefighting efforts, and still others were preparing a search cordon to catch every last intruder.
In fairness, the Donquixote Pirates were formidable as a whole, and victory after victory had filled their soldiers with confidence.
To them, any invading enemy was a paper tiger. A little chaos meant nothing. Once the
