Loa stood atop the largest section of the ruins, looking down at the snarling Undead below. They seemed to find something strange about him. They abruptly stopped and turned to stare.
"Hmm. Looks like you made it back just in time." Ivy's voice suddenly sounded in his ear. At once, Loa sensed a consciousness emerge in his mind and take Ivy's form.
"You know what happened?" Ivy was closely bound to him and had once lived in this body too. After a brief moment of surprise, he asked her.
"A world's ascension looks like a difficult, complicated process to us, but for the world itself, it happens in an instant."
No, I didn't think it was 'difficult' or 'complicated' at all. Loa grumbled inwardly, once again recalling the woman who had thrown him over her shoulder.
Ivy had no idea what was going through his mind. "After a world ascends, things that were previously restricted become possible. Powers grow stronger, and creatures awaken immediately. Like my half of the Dragon Body—and your half."
"So I did this?"
Loa stared blankly and pointed at his own nose.
"Who else? That's why I said you made it back just in time!" Ivy reassured him. "Don't worry, my daughter-in-law is still alive! Now hurry up and wake these Undead before they hurt anyone else."
"Right. Got it."
Loa nodded and frowned at the crowds of Undead whose minds had been consumed by War Fever.
