Loa's method was simple. If he couldn't destroy it, he would replace it. At least temporarily, that was possible.
The Magic Power in the Dragon Scales and the Magic Power in the Rune Seal came from the same source. Loa was like a repairman, using that shared energy to construct a false Rune Seal and lay it over the original.
His grasp of Rune Magic came only from fragments of knowledge inherited through his bloodline. The same was true of Ivy, but she had lived far longer.
Faced with the same sealing Rune, Loa could only take a shortcut with the Dragon Scales, barely managing to replace it. He also had to watch Ivy's lingering Magic Power constantly for the slightest deviation. Ivy, drawing on centuries of experience, had casually fashioned the Frozen Throne; a mere trace of its aura could injure him!
Fortunately, the trick worked. He replaced the original Rune, temporarily freeing Vegapunk from its control.
And "temporarily" meant at least twenty years!
Before the Magic Power in the Dragon Scales dissipated completely, Loa was confident he could remove what Ivy had left behind for good.
Hearing Loa's voice, Dragon breathed a sigh of relief and waved away the surrounding gales.
Loa might not have looked well, but judging by the power he had shown before, even badly wounded, few people in this world could hurt him!
Dragon approached them, glanced at the still-twitching Vegapunk, and grinned. "Looks like this experience will leave him with a memory he'll never forget."
"Not just a memory." Loa grinned too. "Every five minutes, he'll get another reminder!"
Dragon: "..."
Regaining his freedom was something to celebrate, so why did he suddenly feel sorry for Vegapunk?
Vegapunk was vital to their plans. Pluton was one of the Three Ancient Weapons alongside Ivy.
