"We're just leaving?" On the deck of a huge ship, someone looked at the towering figure and asked cautiously.
"Hm? Do I need to report my decisions to you?" Gecko Moria fixed the mercenary with a deadly stare. An invisible pressure bore down on the man, and only after he dropped to his knees, terror filling his eyes, did Moria let up.
"Lord Moria, I—I didn't mean it like that." The mercenary was nearly scared out of his wits. He had almost forgotten that the man before him was a demon in the flesh.
Gecko Moria did not press the matter. He glanced at his injured palm, where he could still feel a faint ache, and muttered through clenched teeth, "I'll settle this score sooner or later. Just not yet."
"I need to devour more shadows and grow stronger. Then I'll settle accounts with every last one of them, especially that damned Marine." Gecko Moria paused, baffled. "He's only a commodore. How can he be so strong?!"
Suddenly, a mercenary on the ship spotted a Marine warship slowly sailing toward them. Through his telescope, he could see a cute young girl on its deck, wolfing down food. She had long, straight pink hair and wore denim overall shorts, a white short-sleeved shirt, brown knee-high boots with low heels, and heart-shaped lipstick.
