A Buster Call?
Though the pirates had never witnessed the Navy's Buster Call firsthand, they had heard enough to know what it could do.
That was why the invading pirates began to panic.
Knowing they could be bombarded by a Buster Call at any moment, they had lost all desire to fight.
But they also saw that neither Jozu nor Jesus Burgess seemed rattled by the news.
Jozu frowned and fell into thought. He had no idea where the Navy had gotten its information.
The Road Poneglyph!
As one of the first to follow Whitebeard into battle across the New World, Diamond Jozu knew things others did not.
The Whitebeard Pirates had once passed through this Town by chance and found it engulfed in war. Pirates had descended on it much as they had now, only with far worse results. The Town had originally held two hundred thousand people, but after its residents rose up in resistance, the pirates slaughtered them until only a few thousand remained.
Unlike the pirates now invading to seize territory from the Whitebeard Pirates, those raiders had heard that an undiscovered Road Poneglyph lay in the Town. They had flocked to it.
After invading, they searched relentlessly, interrogating and killing as they went. Blood stained the entire Town red; even the sky seemed crimson. Just as its residents fell into despair, a man who could almost be called a god appeared.
That man was Whitebeard!
Whitebeard wiped out the invading pirates, though a few managed to leap into the Sea and vanish. From then on, the Whitebeard Pirates' flag flew over the Town, and no pirate dared set their sights on it again.
Whitebeard had not taken the Road Poneglyph. It had remained in the Town, but Jozu had never expected it to be discovered
