Lucci saw Lind standing there in a daze and gave him a friendly reminder. Lind snapped out of it and shook his head furiously. "Uh, uh, uh..." he mumbled as he backed away.
To Lind, going over there meant certain death. Ye Chen's hands were dripping with blood. In the blink of an eye, he had beaten more than a dozen of Lind's men to death.
Lucci suddenly grabbed Lind and shoved him forward. Lind was so frightened he cried. He tried to stop himself, but he couldn't.
That one casual shove sent Lind straight to Ye Chen. Lucci had judged both the direction and the force perfectly.
Ye Chen glanced at Lucci and sensed a faint trace of danger about him.
Lucci nodded to him. "I have something to discuss with you, but I can wait. Finish what you're doing."
Lucci seemed in no hurry to make a move. He remained seated quietly at the bar, gently swirling the red wine in his glass. A faint smile touched his face, and he showed no sign of hostility.
Ye Chen turned back and seized Lind by the collar. "Well? Are you going to give me the money you owe me?"
"Yes, yes! Just don't kill me. I'll get the money right away."
"I've never been a patient man. You'd better not try anything clever."
As he spoke, Ye Chen dragged a finger sharply down Lind's neck. Lind let out a piercing scream, and a bloody line appeared on his skin. The slightest extra pressure would have broken his neck.
