Buildings across Central Capital Island collapsed one after another. Groups of pirates flew into the air, as though they wanted to embrace the beautiful blue sky!
The usually quiet, solemn island had erupted into chaos! Marines clogged every road through its center.
"What is this...?"
Simon, captain of the Mole Pirates, could hardly believe his eyes. "Why are there Marines here? Did Vice Admiral Momonga come? That's impossible."
The night before, he had secretly contacted Momonga and offered to hand over Nico Robin.
Momonga had promised not to harm anyone aboard his ship and had agreed to pay him a handsome reward.
The Marines had been hunting Robin for so long without success that Marine Headquarters was deeply dissatisfied. They would capture Nico Robin at any cost.
"Where's Robin?"
Seeing his first mate Hill run toward him in a panic, Simon hurriedly asked.
Hill shook his head furiously. "I haven't seen her. She was with us last night. Captain, forget about that for now—we need to get out of here. Momonga's here."
"What did you say? It really is Momonga?"
Simon's eyes widened. As he spoke, a tall, straight-backed figure appeared on the street in the distance.
It was Vice Admiral Momonga, one of Marine Headquarters' finest sixteen vice admirals. His swordsmanship was exceptional, his mastery of the Six Powers superb, and the depths of his strength unknown.
On a nearby rooftop, a black-haired young woman lay hidden beneath the eaves. Her dark, beautiful eyes suddenly widened.
Momonga wore a well-tailored, pale purple pinstriped suit over a dark blue shirt. He stood tall and solidly built, with a strange mohawk and a dark purple mustache. Even standing still, he gave off an oppressive air.
A sword hung at his waist. Even through its sheath, its murderous aura could be felt.
