"Ye Chen, this was your idea. Well? Do you dare come along?" Bastille deliberately baited him, hoping to keep him from slipping away.
But Ye Chen had no intention of going anywhere. Bellemere was still in Bastille's hands, and the Marines had yet to deal with Arlong. He would not run off alone.
Why else would he have stepped forward when Bellemere was captured?
"Hmph. I'd like to see you find anything!"
Arlong snorted and led the way. Once inside, Bastille frowned at the mountain of treasure piled up in the room.
Anyone would have been suspicious of that much treasure, especially when Colonel Nezumi had just lost his. The timing was far too convenient. Bastille knew Arlong had taken money from the villagers, but he had never imagined it was this much.
Besides the money Arlong had extorted from the villagers to spare their lives—100,000 Beli per adult and 50,000 per child—he had also received 20 million Beli from Colonel Nezumi!
"Where's this head you're talking about? Ye Chen, stop making things up. If you can find it, go ahead."
Arlong was utterly confident. He knew perfectly well that Colonel Nezumi's head was nowhere in his room.
Yet Ye Chen found a hidden compartment in the wall. Inside stood an altar bearing a memorial tablet, with Fisher Tiger's name written clearly on it.
"What the hell is going on? Why is Boss Tiger's memorial tablet here?"
Arlong stared in shock and stumbled back several steps. Ye Chen laughed coldly to himself. He had put it there, of course.
Arlong and his crew had once sailed with Fisher Tiger, so Ye Chen did not want to wipe them out. But he could not simply let them get away with running wild in Cocoyasi Village.
After all, he still wanted to
