When Nami stopped crying, Ye Chen finally breathed a sigh of relief.
The offer Ye Chen had made was far too tempting for Nami. She frowned and thought it over, wrestling with herself for a while.
At last, Nami nodded. "All right, I agree. But you have to keep me safe, and I want to get back to Cocoyasi Village as soon as possible. I don't want to be away from Bellemere for too long."
"Don't worry. I left Bellemere a letter when I took you away. I promised her I'd bring you back to see her soon." Ye Chen nodded quickly, though he had no idea how long it would take to sail all the way around the Grand Line.
With that settled, Nami clasped her little hands behind her back and pointed at the mountain of treasure. "All of that belongs to me now. Hurry up and move it to my room. Oh, and the best room on the ship is mine. That's fair, right?"
"Perfectly fair!"
Ye Chen nearly burst out laughing. Nami was like a little adult: she had barely joined them and was already giving orders. She clearly had a forceful streak, but as long as she agreed to be their Navigator, Ye Chen didn't mind anything else.
"Gin, Stone, hurry up and move the treasure into Nami's room. And make sure you clean her room properly."
Gin and Stone glanced at each other, curled their lips in annoyance, and complained in unison, "Knew this would happen."
To her credit, Nami settled into her role quickly despite being only ten years old. When they passed a town, she bought a stack of books on navigation from a local shop.
Whenever she had time, Nami studied them. She lacked experience at first and often made
