Magellan beckoned to Ye Chen, then led the way straight to his office.
Magellan's Chief Warden's Office was on the Fourth Level. He spent far less time there than he did in the bathroom.
As they walked, Magellan stole glances at Ye Chen. His stride was steady and his expression relaxed. His bright black eyes wandered over the prison's layout, then kept drifting to Domino and Sadi, making both women frown.
Sadi gritted her teeth. She wanted nothing more than to hang Ye Chen up and give him a thorough whipping.
"Heh... you want to whip me?"
Ye Chen suddenly laughed as they walked. Sadi froze and stared at him wide-eyed. "How do you know what I'm thinking?"
"Because I'm thinking the same thing. I'd like to hang you up and give you a beating too."
Ye Chen had grown increasingly adept at Mind Reading. As long as someone was weaker than him and lacked a strong enough will, it worked every time. Against an opponent far stronger than he was, though, it might not work at all—and could even backfire.
Mind Reading was, after all, a mental ability, somewhat like hypnosis. It was hard to use effectively on a powerful enemy.
"Sadi, you'd better not mess with Brother Chen. He knows what you're thinking, what you've eaten, what you're wearing, even what you've done in the past. You can't hide any of it from him."
Hannibal held Ye Chen in great awe and was eager to talk him up. Seeing Sadi take an interest in him, he hurried to warn her.
Of course, Sadi's interest in Ye Chen was not romantic. She simply found the idea of tormenting him fascinating.
"Oh? Really? Then tell me: what color are the panties I'm wearing?"
