"Nami, were you waiting for me? I'm touched."
Ye Chen hurried over to Nami and swept her into his arms.
"Let go, you jerk! Who was waiting for you?"
Nami glared at Ye Chen and pried his wandering hand off her backside. Pouting, she huffed, "I was worried about the money. You were wandering around the streets with that much cash! What if you'd lost it? What if someone had stolen it?"
"That hurts!"
Ye Chen rubbed his eyes in a show of grief. Nami wriggled free of his arms and made a smug face at him. Only after checking the case and finding that none of the money was missing did she breathe a sigh of relief.
So she hadn't been waiting for Ye Chen to come back after all.
"She's hopeless when it comes to money!"
Ye Chen sighed and carried the case into the Inn.
Fortunately, Nami hadn't been stingy this time. The rooms in the Inn were spacious and luxurious; she had booked the entire second floor.
Over dinner, Ye Chen couldn't help praising her. "Nami, I never thought you'd spend money on such a nice Inn for us. This is five-star treatment. I'm touched."
"Of course. I treat you better than anyone else, don't I?"
Nami grinned proudly.
Her smile was wide and uninhibited. Not a trace of ladylike reserve ever showed on her face.
She was straightforward, with a boldness people usually associated with boys. In Ye Chen's old world, she would have grown up to be one tough woman.
Other women smiled faintly or hid their teeth behind a hand. Nami laughed with her mouth wide open, nearly every pearly-white tooth on display. When she got carried away, she could even spray spit onto someone's face.
Stone shook his head, leaned close to
