"Kid, you're not getting through!"
A vice admiral wielding the Giant Axe planted himself in Chopper's path. With a roar that shook the heavens, he brought the gleaming blade down. Chopper wanted to dodge, but the axe was too fast. Just as its edge was about to strike him, someone leaped in from the side and kicked it away.
"Diable Jambe!"
"Sanji!"
Overcome with relief, Chopper burst into tears.
Sanji glanced at him and took a leisurely drag on his cigarette. "If you're a man, dry those tears!"
Chopper nodded quickly, bit his lip, and forced back his tears. He looked at Sanji with open admiration.
"Left-Hand Iron Fist!"
Franky was already wounded, but he ignored the pain. Fired up like a machine wound to its limit, he launched his left fist with a loud clatter of metal, driving it into the ranks of Marines.
More than a dozen Marines flew into the air screaming. Franky roared with excitement and swung his extended fist through the crowd. In moments, Marines lay sprawled across the ground.
Two Marine officers charged with blades from either side, trying to trap Franky between them. Then someone shouted from the distance, "Special Attack: Gunpowder Star!"
Whoosh! Whoosh!
The air rippled as two Gunpowder Stars shot toward them. Caught off guard, both officers took direct hits. Explosions erupted around them, but aside from a cloud of choking smoke, the blasts did little damage.
The Straw Hat Pirates were still weak at this point. They had yet to face a truly grueling test.
Usopp in particular had always been timid. Now he was hiding far behind everyone else.
