"Who are you?" Princess Shirahoshi asked, startled by the stranger who had suddenly appeared before her.
Ye Chen paused, still savoring the sound of her voice. It was clear and sweet, as refreshing as a spring breeze. Then he remembered that he was standing on her chest. His face flushed with embarrassment, and he quickly smiled, flipped through the air, and landed on the floor. "I'm Ye Chen. It's a pleasure to meet you. What's your name?"
Ye Chen smiled as he asked, still taking in the sight of her.
Shirahoshi widened her eyes and blinked her long lashes at Ye Chen. She found him fascinating; she had never seen anyone so small before. "My name is Shirahoshi!"
"Shirahoshi." Ye Chen nodded. She really is white.
The table was laden with food, and Ye Chen, whose stomach happened to be empty, helped himself. As he ate, he chatted with Shirahoshi. "Hey, what's going on here?"
Shirahoshi did not find him frightening. They talked easily, and no one had ever kept her company so happily before.
