Ye Chen landed lightly, and the two venomous creatures returned to the Poison Woman.
His whole body went numb. Dizziness washed over him, and much of his strength seemed to drain away.
"How does it feel? Enjoying it?"
The Poison Woman giggled. She strolled up to Ye Chen, then suddenly lifted her right leg and drove the pointed heel of her shoe into him.
Ye Chen's insides jolted violently, and he flew backward like a kite with its string cut.
He slammed into the ground. The pain was the least of his problems. After being bitten by the Poison Spider and Poison Scorpion, his head swam, and he could not muster an ounce of strength.
The Poison Woman's footsteps sounded again. Ye Chen shook his head hard, trying to clear it.
But his body was growing less responsive. He forced his eyes open, only to see a blurry figure.
The Poison Woman kept giggling as she approached, slowly, step by step. Like a cat toying with a mouse, she was in no hurry to kill him.
Ye Chen groped blindly at the ground. Luck was with him: someone had dropped a short blade. He seized it and, without a moment's hesitation, raised it and stabbed himself in the thigh.
The Poison Woman stopped in surprise. She could not make sense of what he was doing.
"What? Trying to kill yourself?"
"If you really died, I'd be heartbroken," the Poison Woman teased.

Ye Chen stabbed his leg three times in a row, drawing blood with every strike. In an instant, the short blade was stained red.
Ye Chen threw back his head and roared like a frenzied beast. The sound was fierce and raw, full of boundless savagery. It made eardrums ring and carried a murderous aura.
