They looked at one another, none of them willing to act. But they could hardly stand aside completely. After a moment's hesitation, Catarina Devon moved first. She lunged toward Night Demon's back with astonishing speed, leaving only an afterimage.
Whoosh! But someone else was faster. A figure flashed in from the side, and a fierce blast of palm force thundered toward Devon.

"Who's there?" Startled, Devon peered ahead. When the rolling dust cleared, Ye Chen stood before her.
"You." Devon groaned inwardly. She looked back and saw that her companions had already retreated at the first sign of trouble.

Ye Chen smiled at Devon and shook his head. "No one interferes in this fight!"
