In the blazing forest of flames, towering trees came crashing down with a thunderous roar. Yet it was not the inferno that caused it, but the giant beast roaring at the heart of the jungle.
It emerged from the flames like a Giant. More terrifying still, flames were streaming endlessly into its gaping mouth.
The watching Elves were completely dumbfounded, staring at the ugly monster as though it were some divine beast.
It truly was ugly. Its entire body seemed wrapped in nothing but a layer of skin; through the gaps, they could even see its internal organs pounding away. Its head in particular looked as though brain matter might spill out if it were the slightest bit careless.
Yet this monster was solving the greatest problem they faced.
The flames continued spreading outward from the Earth Elves' habitat. Wherever they passed, the fire seemed to possess intelligence, rushing in its entirety toward that fang-filled maw.
