The voice was dry and stiff, carrying a strange laugh. It sounded nothing like an intimate lover, more like a Demon whose scheme had succeeded. There was even a trace of delight in it. More terrifying still, this person had directly spoken Li Ziran's own name.
In an instant, Li Ziran's heart clenched. He instinctively tried to raise his head, but Ke'er's delicate palm suddenly clamped around his throat. She leaped forward, pressing her full body directly against his.
This time, he clearly saw her eyes—rigid, red-white, carrying a mocking amusement.
Alarm surged through him. This violence was absolutely not Ke'er.
His hand shot straight for Ke'er's throat, but the instant it closed around her neck, a sharp pain exploded below his waist. Ke'er's knee slammed between his legs. A tremendous force sent Li Ziran flying into the wall.
The injury was not severe. He shook his head, recovered himself, and looked toward the operating table.
She was licking her lips as if savoring the feeling from moments ago. A foxlike smile curled at the corner of her mouth as she stared motionlessly at the prey before her like a hunter.
That icy gaze made Li Ziran's heart tighten. He remembered those emotionless eyes all too well.
It was none other than Andre.
This was bad!
A terrifying thought rose in his mind. Ke'er had been possessed. Andre's soul had invaded her body and actually taken over the Elven Queen.
How was that possible?
How could Andre's soul be powerful enough for this? Or had Ke'er's soul been too open, giving Andre an opportunity to exploit?
Looking at Ke'er, even with a heart of iron and stone, Li Ziran felt somewhat guilty. If Ke'er had not had the slightest connection to him, he could have struck to kill without hesitation.
