At last, the scent of moisture reached them through the dense fog. It was the Sea God, that nine-tentacled octopus of the Ancient Clans. The moisture carried a strange, briny stench.

The fog split apart. A tentacle lashed out, sweeping straight toward Li Ziran. Before it even reached him, the space around him froze solid, and parts of it crumbled to powder.

"Watch out!" Ke'er felt the warning was unnecessary, but it slipped out before she could stop herself.

Li Ziran finally moved, stepping sideways to the left. A tornado shot out from beneath his feet and collided head-on with the wave. In an instant, the tornado froze completely and disintegrated into powder. The raging tide was already upon him.

Ke'er instinctively backed away, but Li Ziran suddenly stepped forward. A surge of glossy green energy rose beneath his feet, taking shape as a patch of land. The land trembled faintly, its force seemingly weak, yet the wave that froze everything seemed to be bound in place and slapped down onto the ground.

Water churned within the fog, but not a single droplet escaped that tiny patch of land.
