The instant she heard Li Ziran's proposal, Snow froze. There was no doubt it was tempting, but the more she thought about it, the more absurd it seemed.
"You can't do this kind of business with just a Golden Goat!" Snow did not spell it out. Any normal person could see that selling intelligence was a business of enormous profit, and in the Void Expanse, only Ancient Clans that had grown into a force could operate such lucrative trades. Besides, Faith, information, spatial routes—none of them were simple problems. This was not something that could be done by tying up a Golden Goat. "Impossible. The technology isn't mature enough, and besides..."
She wanted to say something more, but swallowed it back down.
"It shouldn't be as complicated as you imagine. I saw it. As long as we have some understanding of Faith, information can be obtained entirely through Memory Spells. The only thing we lack now is a spatial passage. If we can settle down and study it properly, perhaps we can independently locate the races on the Red Soil Continent that have Faith in Li Ziran," Li Ziran explained simply.
This was not groundless speculation. Though everything was unknown, he was confident that as long as he obtained a Golden-Horned Goat and carefully dissected its internal organs, he could understand the mystery behind intercepting Faith.
As for knowledge, that was simpler still. He had the Memory Eye. As long as he could catch a Panda, the Memory Eye could read every last bit of its memories exactly as they were.
Li Ziran's only weakness was the construction of spatial passages. That was a field he had never touched before.
But given enough time, a detailed study of the Spatial Mantis's discarded shell should not pose much of a problem.
