The Void Expanse is an immense realm of darkness, cold, and apparent Nothingness, lacking any natural sense of direction or stable refuge. To ordinary beings, entering it is likened to falling endlessly with no warmth, foundation, or means of calling for help. 573 605

Its energy is not uniform. The region beyond the Boundary Wall contains chaotic, impure Void energy that can damage a Void Heart and destabilize ordinary protective structures, while the familiar enclosed Void is comparatively stable and filtered. 737

• Elemental Tide incompatibility — Powerful beings who exceed the Red Soil Continent's limits are eventually rejected by its Elemental Tide and may be forced to seek refuge in the Void Expanse. 570 573
