Hippo Ancient City was now like an old, abandoned chimney that had stood for years, endlessly belching outward. These soul-made exhaust fumes continuously battered the Mental Web Jiawen had constructed.
Those thick strands were growing thinner and thinner, as though they might tear apart at any moment.

The living beings within Derivative Space were nearly despairing. All they could see was that this ever-expanding soul was about to destroy everything completely. Even with Jiawen's intervention, the results had fallen far short of ideal.
"Jiawen, what exactly are you doing?!" Golden Dragon cried out anxiously. "Can't you see what kind of monster he's become? Hurry up and destroy him!"
Jiawen remained calm, utterly ignoring the uproar within Derivative Space. It seemed there was no longer any need for him to act.
Although the soul was still expanding without restraint, according to his calculations, it should have completely collapsed under the effects of the chains within these few minutes. Yet that had not happened. Though the Soul Explosion was still incredibly violent, he could clearly sense that its berserk momentum was gradually easing.
It was like a rapidly spreading fire that seemed to have burned itself to its end.
"Impossible?" Jiawen stared in shock at the ravaging soul storm, unable to believe it. Once Christie's Void Chains exceeded their limit, they would collapse completely. How could a problem he had exhausted every scheme to solve be resolved by a human who had never entered the Void Expanse?
This defied all logic. Inside Hippo Ancient City, Goni found it even more unbelievable than Jiawen did, but he was excited.
