Mad speculation spread without end through Gelong's heart. The more he stared at the constantly writhing Hippo Ancient City, the more convinced he became that his judgment was correct. If everything was as he had guessed, then this human was far too terrifying.
It was not his strength, but his vision. He saw farther than everyone else, and he had put it into action.
Subconsciously, he looked toward the Soul Continent in the sky. The total number of souls on that continent kept expanding. In mere minutes, it had surpassed its former amount by more than a hundredfold. Even the ghostly faces emerging from the thick fog were absorbed by the Soul Continent. Yet Gelong laughed inwardly, as though those violent souls were as fragile as paper balloons.
What he was most curious about now was exactly what the Hippo Ancient City had devoured.

The surface of the Hippo Ancient City was utterly black, as if covered in some sort of charcoal ash. It was unsightly beyond measure, and even its living aura had nearly vanished. The entire ancient city was swollen, as though its belly had been stuffed full of air, making it look exceptionally awkward. Yet Gelong could not shake the strange feeling that beneath that black shell lay blinding true gold.

Circles of Void Expanse cracks spread outward. The enormous Soul Continent was now not much different from the Red Soil Continent of old. Living creatures, vegetation, mountains, and rivers—it had everything. It even possessed its own unique Tide, carrying stars that had never existed before. The stars flickered, and souls exploded.
