Sarutobi Asuma was far from the only one to stand on the podium and declare that he wanted to become Hokage.

But he was the only one who said he wanted to work hard alongside everyone else.

For a moment, an intangible aura of dominance radiated from Asuma.

Uchiha Obito pushed up his goggles and snorted inwardly.

Kakashi and the others followed suit, applauding.

After stepping down from the podium, Sarutobi Asuma was in an excellent mood.

Sarutobi Asuma sighed inwardly.

He also understood perfectly well that Charm needed strength to back it up, especially in the ninja world.

Otherwise, it was all just empty talk.

So, after accepting Kurenai's praise beneath her admiring gaze, Sarutobi Asuma turned his attention to the stack of books on the desk.

There were quite a few books. Without the system, not many of them would have been useful to Sarutobi Asuma.

But now, in his eyes, they were all shining Experience Points.

Once someone truly focused on doing something, time always passed quickly.

In the blink of an eye, the entire morning had passed.

It was only when Yūhi Kurenai softly called out to him that Sarutobi Asuma came back to his senses and closed "Genjutsu Introduction."

Holding their lunchboxes, Sarutobi Asuma and Yūhi Kurenai found a lounge to eat lunch together. On the way, Asuma glanced at the system. Experience Points +300, Intelligence +2. There was also an additional Level 1 Genjutsu in the skill list, complete with a progress bar at 10%.

That left Sarutobi Asuma feeling delighted. With such a lovely little girl sitting before him, his mood only improved further.

He had discovered the progress bar while studying the system. Under normal circumstances, it would not be displayed.

They thoroughly enjoyed their lunch.

Afterward, Yūhi Kurenai even helped Sarutobi Asuma wash his lunchbox.

After putting away the lunchboxes, Sarutobi Asuma took the blushing Yūhi Kurenai by the hand and went for a walk through the deserted streets to aid digestion, steering the conversation toward Genjutsu.

Yūhi Kurenai's father, Yūhi Shinkō, was a Konoha Jōnin and one who was highly proficient in Genjutsu.

He had to milk this source of Experience Points!

So, after finding a shady bench to sit on, Sarutobi Asuma asked Yūhi Kurenai about Genjutsu.

Though they had only just started school, Yūhi Kurenai's cultivation in Genjutsu far surpassed that of Sarutobi Asuma, who had only just begun.

Sarutobi Asuma estimated that Yūhi Kurenai's store of Genjutsu knowledge had probably already reached Level 2.

By the time afternoon classes began, he had gotten nearly another hundred Experience Points from Yūhi Kurenai.

Keep it up. I'll reach Level 4 today!

After school that afternoon.

Sarutobi Asuma gathered Kakashi and the others to train together.

On the way, they saw Might Guy still training madly, so Asuma simply called Guy over as well.

For Guy, this was an utterly unbelievable and overwhelmingly exciting event.

In full view of everyone, he first cried while embracing Might Duy. Only after wiping away his tears did he passionately follow Sarutobi Asuma and the others.

However, Asuma did not begin training immediately. Instead, he led the group into the woods to pick wild fruit.

"Asuma, these wild fruits aren't edible. Why are we picking them?"

Shizune asked curiously.

"These are the best training tools. You'll find out soon enough!"

Sarutobi Asuma replied with a mysterious smile.

Before long, the group reluctantly picked a large bag of fruit.

In an open clearing.

Holding some fruit, Sarutobi Asuma called Yūhi Kurenai over, then said to Kakashi, "Kakashi, you'll go first and demonstrate."

Though Kakashi was puzzled, he still nodded.

Asuma used a branch to draw a large circle around Kakashi, then said, "In a moment, Kurenai and I will throw the fruit in our hands at you. Your task, Kakashi, is to stay within this circle and avoid as much of the fruit as possible. Don't let any of it hit you!"

Kakashi's eyes immediately flashed, and he blurted out, "Asuma, is this to train our dodging ability?"

Asuma smiled and nodded, then explained, "Dodging ability is just a rather broad term."

"This can train a person's Neural Reaction, physical coordination, eyesight, and more."

"Of course, this kind of training is only the most basic for now."

"Later, we can take it a step further. For example, we could throw different kinds of fruit and designate one type for you to catch, while making sure you aren't hit by any of the others."

Kakashi's eyes were already shining.

Ibiki praised, "What an ingenious design!"

Tsubaki nodded beside him. "It allows us to train without much danger. It's perfect for us."

It was not as though similar training methods did not exist for ninjas.

For instance, one could use trap designs to arrange large numbers of shuriken for attacks from multiple angles.

But for children as young as them, that was far too dangerous.

With one small design, Sarutobi Asuma had thoroughly become the brains of this little group.

Sarutobi Asuma and the other two demonstrated it first, then everyone else began training in groups.

Groups of three or four.

This kind of training consumed more energy than simple physical conditioning.

It ended half an hour later.

All the fruit they had picked was used up as well.

After resting, Sarutobi Asuma pulled Might Guy along to continue physical training.

By then, some people could no longer keep going.

At five or six years old, not everyone possessed Sarutobi Asuma's self-discipline or Guy's diligence.

In the end, only Kakashi and Yūhi Kurenai continued training with the two of them.

After resting, everyone else went off to play ninja games.

Sarutobi Asuma did not force them.

He believed that once the gap widened, people would naturally catch up.

Training ended.

Sarutobi Asuma walked Yūhi Kurenai home before strolling back himself.
