"Erosion means to cut off obsession, let go of all greed, break away from Sea of Bitterness of Samsara, and reach the state of pure bliss. What is the Tao? It is the method taught by me, West. We know that everything in the world arises and disperses due to causes and conditions, all actions are impermanent, and all dharmas have no self."
"Everything in the world is an illusion formed by causes and conditions, which cannot last long. As long as you see through the illusion and let go of your obsessions, no matter your origin, no matter what race you are, as long as you sincerely take refuge, you can escape from suffering and go to Western Pure Land."

Many casual cultivators spend their entire lives practicing hard in order to achieve longevity and stabilize their own spiritual path.
Medicine Master's statement directly points out that all pursuits are illusions, and is completely different from the monk Mystic Sect's idea of pursuing enlightenment and freedom, and establishing his own way in the world.

Monks strive for immortality and are greedy for Great Dao's fruition. They cannot let go of the idea of "I want to achieve enlightenment", so they are forever trapped in their obsession."
"Mystic Sect practice focuses on self-realization. It is "I" who captures Great Dao. And my West way is to see through the emptiness of "I", let go of attachment to the self, no longer seek outside, look inward, and eliminate greed, anger, and delusion, only then can I gain liberation."

Ksitigarbha replied with a smile, "The flow of causes and conditions, birth and death, is the normal state. All things arise and perish on their own, which is meaningless. Everything is imposed by the obsession of all living beings. Obsessing with the prosperity of the ethnic group and the strength of the individual are all thoughts that cannot be let go."
"It is as strong as the original Dragon, Phoenix, and Qilin Clans, and all the prosperity is gone in an instant. Instead of spending countless flesh and blood chasing a prosperity that will eventually dissipate, it is better to see through it early, abandon the ties of the world, and enter the Western Pure Land suffering of eternal reincarnation."
As soon as these words came out, many Mystic Sect disciples fell into deep thought.
Medicine Master is eloquent, with interlocking legal principles and layer-by-layer deductions, with beautiful words and strict logic.

But you, who have lived in the Western Spirit Mountain pure land for a long time, have no pain of hunger or cold, no danger of life and death. You have never experienced the suffering of all living beings, and you have never understood the wishes of all living beings."
"You only heard about it from Sage, but you didn't step into the suffering yourself and witness the struggle of the people with your own eyes. What you know about "let go of your obsession and return to silence" is the answer Sage told you, not the result of your own search for the path."
"You only see that prosperity will eventually perish, but you don't see the perseverance of sentient beings in suffering. You only teach people to escape suffering, but you don't think about it. In suffering, you can also sharpen your heart."
"There is never only one Tao. Senior brother has never experienced it personally, so I am here to comment on the persistence of all sentient beings. Do you think that in the entire prehistoric period, only you in the West can see it most clearly, and only your Tao in the West is the great road?"
After Li Yuanchu finished speaking, the square fell silent.
Duobao glanced at him approvingly, and then looked at Medicine Master Ksitigarbha opposite.
West's way is indeed interesting, but the people on the other side are a bit worse in their ways.
If you let him say it... forget it, it's better not to say it.
Li Yuanchu admits that his behavior of criticizing it is a bit shameful, but it is indeed very useful.
