  • Yuanshi asked Li Yuanchu to guide the disciples debating the Dao, and Li Yuanchu took a seat among them.
  • Medicine Master explained the Western Teachings' doctrines of cessation, dependent origination, and emptiness, arguing that cultivators should relinquish attachment and seek liberation.
  • Ksitigarbha said that worldly prosperity and strength were attachments, and urged living beings to abandon worldly ties for the Western Pure Land.
  • When Medicine Master asked for Li Yuanchu's view, Li Yuanchu praised the doctrine but questioned whether it was truly Medicine Master's own Dao.
  • Li Yuanchu argued that Medicine Master had not personally witnessed living beings' suffering and therefore could not judge their perseverance; Medicine Master bowed and accepted the lesson.
  • Li Yuanchu turned to Ksitigarbha and asked what the Dao was in his heart.

Ch. 131A sparring match

  • Li Yuanchu answered Medicine Master’s question by arguing that Yuanshi Tianzun had criticized unruly behavior, not the origins of those who heard the Dao Ancestor’s teachings.
  • Duobao led the disciples away from the elders’ discussion, and Shangqing Peak’s cultivators and the Western disciples fought a series of matches with mixed results.
  • Ksitigarbha asked to spar with Li Yuanchu, and Li Yuanchu entered the field despite Jin Ling’s concern about their difference in cultivation.

Ch. 135Heading to the West

  • Li Yuanchu traveled with Jieyin and Zhunti to the West and reached Mount Sumeru, where he found fertile lands but weaker spiritual energy than Kunlun.

Ch. 136Restoring the Earth Veins

Li Yuanchu discovered how the West’s Dream Dao eased suffering and then found the God-Slaying Spear beneath the western lands. Working with Jieyin and Zhunti, he cleared Baleful Qi and restored the West’s damaged earth veins, though its vitality would take much longer to return.

  • Li Yuanchu discussed the West’s methods with Jieyin and Zhunti, learning that their Dream Dao helped living beings resolve obsessions and reduced entropy.
  • After returning to his cave to cultivate Dream Dao, Li Yuanchu dreamed of the God-Slaying Spear and sensed it beneath the western earth veins.
  • Li Yuanchu found the spear, suppressed it with the World-Destroying Millstone, and absorbed the surrounding Baleful Qi.
  • Li Yuanchu told Jieyin and Zhunti he could absorb the Baleful Qi, and the three set out to map and repair the damaged earth veins.
  • Over ten thousand years, Li Yuanchu cleared the Baleful Qi while Jieyin and Zhunti restored the earth veins; the West’s vitality still needed time to recover.

Ch. 137The Two Sages of the West

After helping Jieyin and Zhunti become Sages, Li Yuanchu refused the Heavenly Dao’s invitation and was sent into a dream of a Human Race assault on the Heavenly Court. The chapter ended as Di Jun destroyed Li Yuanchu’s black hole attack and confronted him.

  • Jieyin and Zhunti founded the Western Teachings, made forty-eight great vows, and attained Sagehood with merit from Li Yuanchu’s Record of the Great Wilderness.
  • Zhunti offered Li Yuanchu another chance to follow the Heavenly Dao and become a Sage, but Li Yuanchu refused, so Jieyin sent him into a dream.

  • Li Yuanchu’s forces captured and killed Xihe and Changxi, prompting Di Jun to summon the Demon Race armies back to the Heavenly Court.
  • Li Yuanchu attacked the Heavenly Court with a black hole, but Di Jun shattered it and roared at him.

Ch. 138Campaign against Demons and Witches

Li Yuanchu’s forces defeated Di Jun’s demons after breaking the Zhou Tian Star-Dou Great Array, then turned against the Witches at Buzhou Mountain. Houtu escaped captivity and freed the other Ancestral Witches, who formed the Pangu True Body as the Human Kings prepared to contain it.

  • Li Yuanchu revealed eight hundred peak Daluo Golden Immortals among the Divine Martial Guards and ordered them to attack the demons surrounding him and Ying Long.
  • The Divine Martial Guards weakened the Zhou Tian Star-Dou Great Array while Li Yuanchu and Ying Long destroyed its hubs; Li Yuanchu then defeated the Eastern Emperor, and Di Jun died in the assault.
  • Li Yuanchu learned that the Human Race’s forces had encircled Buzhou Mountain and ordered them to spare two Ancestral Witches, if possible sparing Houtu as well.
  • Yun Tian and the Twelve Human Kings confronted the Ancestral Witches, using formations and world-destroying Dharma Artifacts to overwhelm them.
  • Sifu hesitated while restraining Houtu, allowing her to escape and rescue Dijiang and the other Ancestral Witches.
  • The Twelve Ancestral Witches formed the Pangu True Body, and the Human Kings scattered and deployed the Spirit-Sealing Absolute Formation.

Ch. 139One great dream

Li Yuanchu witnessed a possible future in which the Human Race defeated the Witches but Buzhou Mountain’s destruction unleashed deadly Baleful Qi across the world. After the Sages explained the vision, he resolved to return to the Great Wilderness and face whatever suffering awaited the Human Race.

  • The Human Race used the Spirit-Sealing Absolute Formation and fighter aircraft to wear down the Twelve Ancestral Witches’ Pangu True Body, while Sifu pursued fleeing Witch soldiers.
  • After a hundred days, the Human Kings cornered the exhausted Ancestral Witches and urged them to surrender, but the Pangu True Body charged into Buzhou Mountain.
  • Buzhou Mountain fell and released vast Baleful Qi, which overwhelmed defensive formations as Li Yuanchu struggled to absorb it and people across the land panicked.

  • Li Yuanchu rejected Zhunti’s warning that the Human Race’s future suffering was destined, then left Mount Sumeru for the Great Wilderness.
  • Jieyin asked Zhunti why he had not told Li Yuanchu about the upheaval among the Human Race, and Zhunti said Li Yuanchu would not turn back before experiencing utter desperation.
