[Erudition] was an extraordinarily powerful Special Perk, and Xia Lun was determined to get it.

Once he acquired it, the time he needed to learn a new Specialization or Specialty would shrink dramatically. In his experience, higher-level Specialization Memories and Perk Memories all had what he thought of as "breakthrough points."

When he had been learning Mastery-level Swordsmanship, for example, he had spent the whole time working on Force Dissipation. Until he mastered it, the number of times he needed to enter the dream for that Specialization Memory would not change. What [Erudition] really meant by reducing those dream entries, then, was probably that it improved comprehension and made such breakthrough points easier to overcome.

Besides, [Erudition]'s promise to "greatly increase the possibility of integrating Specializations and breaking through to Master Level" was far too tempting.

Apart from resolving the Soul Curse once and for all, Xia Lun's main reason for entering the game was to grow strong enough to protect himself in the murky Real World. A combat-related Master Level Specialization was probably the threshold for doing that.

Frankly, discovering that a Cognitive Filter existed in reality had left him with a powerful sense of urgency.

Its existence meant that extraordinarily powerful beings unknown to the public lived in the Real World. If those beings discovered that he was unaffected by the Cognitive Filter, how would they react?

Judging them by himself, Xia Lun doubted their attitude toward him would be friendly.

In short, he had to get [Erudition]!

For now, though, he was still far short of the Memory Points needed to redeem it.

He had spent roughly 4,000 Memory Points on those production-related Specialization Memories, leaving him with only 9,000

or so Memory Points. In other words, he was still a full 16,000 points short of [Erudition]!
