Heiduo hesitated for two seconds before lightly shaking his hand. "Thank you. May I ask how I should address you?"

"If you do not mind, Mr. Heiduo, you may call me Yani." Yani was exceedingly polite, clearly sincere in wanting to befriend Heiduo.

The people behind him introduced themselves as well. Heiduo graciously shook their hands; they all had rather ordinary French names.
